REVIEW: The Pendulum Swings, Rockerilla
/October, 2026 | Roberto Mandolini
Deardarkhead's debut cassette, Greetings From The Infernal Village (1988), is among the most sought-after items among shoegaze collectors. Their ten-year-old album, Unlock The Valves Of Feeling (1998), is becoming equally rare. A similar fate will likely befall their recent album The Pendulum Swings, released like their previous works on their own label, Fertile Crescent. The album contains ten instrumental tracks that alternate psychedelic accelerations (Tomorrowland) with stratospheric ballads (Tears). It was recorded by the duo of Kevin Harrington (guitars, bass) and Robert Weiss (drums), with assistance from Brandon Howard and Joe McGinty on a couple of tracks.
UNEXPECTED RETURN.
